The Challenge

Uganda’s youth unemployment rate exceeds 30%, and women-owned enterprises face structural barriers to finance and markets. Building resilient livelihoods is central to breaking inter-generational poverty.

Our Approach

REST-Africa fosters inclusive economic growth through microenterprise development, financial inclusion (VSLA+), and market-driven value chain strengthening. We connect local producers to buyers and integrate technology into income-generation systems.

Key Interventions

  1. Establishing VSLAs and community enterprise groups with digital record-keeping.
  2. Providing business development services (BDS), coaching, and mentorship.
  3. Linking MSMEs to markets, finance, and digital tools.
  4. Promoting green entrepreneurship solar, clean cooking, waste recycling.
  5. Developing public-private partnerships (PPPs) that unlock youth and women’s potential.

Get Involved

Invest in youth-led businesses, sponsor an entrepreneurship accelerator, or support women’s VSLA+ groups.

Impact

By 2028, REST-Africa will support 5,000 enterprises and 200 MSMEs to access finance, leading to a 25% average increase in household income among beneficiaries.
